Renting the programme The screening would consist in the projection of approximately 30 works of the collection. To organize this event the institution will have to look for a good exhibition room and travelling expenses for one of the TVAF organizers, who would present the programme. The institution would do the promotion at national level and the production of the printed matter. The exhibition format would require certain number computer sets and video projectors, depending of the size of the exhibition space. The audience will be able to select among all the works we have in the TheVideoArtFoundation is open to discuss any other possibility when especial circumstances concur. Our interest is that hosting organizations commission a minimum of three new works for the project. A commission consist on allocate 1,000 euros per artist to produce one minute video plus 300 euros for administration. With this money the artist would produce the work, by renting equipment, hiring actors, or whatever he or she considers necessary. This is the minimum fee we have fixed, as one of the aims of TheVideoArtFoundation is to create new resources for artists. The works commissioned by the hosting organization would have the logo of the institution at the final credits in all the public presentations of the videoDictionary in the future and its support to the project would be published as much as possible. A copy of each of the works commissioned would remain in the library of the hosting organization for documentary and educational purposes. TheVideoArtFoundation would provide all materials and information for the hosting organization to apply for grants in each country to institutions or particulars that may support the commissions. A standard way to select the artist to commission would be to agree two form the hosting country per each international artist. The hosting organization would propose lets say ten artists from which TheVideoArtFoundation would select the two. TVAF will propose three artists from which the hosting organization would select one. The hosting organization has the possibility of launch an open call or to collaborate on the ongoing ones, by funding some of the selected videos by making available 300 euros per artists. This gives good visibility to the institution as its information and logo is printed in all the promotional material, press and mailing. By commissioning works the hosting organization would be able to programme a screening with around 30 words of the collection. The show would have as a main subject the presentation of the new commissions. |
